March 2018
United Methodist                                      Women

The United Methodist women will meet on Tuesday, March 13th.  Prayer & Self Denial will be featured by soup at noon. The program, given by Judy Aho will be “Looking Forward to the 150th Anniversary of the United Methodist Women.” There will also be a business meeting. For more information call Celia  776-2534.

The United Methodist Women have fair trade Products for sale in the narthex.  They sell the products at their cost as they consider this project a mission.   It provides farmers with an adequate income to send their children to school. There is no child labor involved.

The coffee, tea and the chocolate are organic and heart health dark chocolate. The chocolate is a heart healthy dark.

May you be blessed as you support Fair Trade farmers and their families.
Thank you

Prayer Team Invitation

Did you know that our church has a Prayer Team that meets every Monday morning at 10 a.m. to pray for the prayer requests lifted up in our Sunday morning worship services, and those prayer requests placed in the Prayer Box in the Narthex?  This group welcomes anyone who has an interest in growing in their prayer life.  If daytime doesn’t work for you, an evening Prayer Team could be formed.  If you would be interested in that, please contact Pastor Eleanor.

Update on
Our Church Visioning Efforts

Last May, we spent time in our worship services envisioning to what continued and new ministries God is calling us, in an effort we called “Matthew 25 Ministry.”  Four specific ministry areas were identified in those efforts.  Here is a brief update of where those ministry efforts are at this point in time.

Increase Offerings of Bible/Book Studies – Over the past six months, Bible Studies and Book Studies have been offered almost continuously, and there are around twenty-five people participating at any given time.  And there is always room for more!

ProvideRegularlyScheduled“Senior Gatherings” – A team has begun to design these events, with the first one to be scheduled later this spring.

Create a Welcome Packet for Visitors – A team has met once and is gathering ideas for what to include and how to produce and distribute them.

Create a “Clothing Pantry – A team is meeting and has identified space in the basement of our sanctuary building in which a Clothing Pantry could be located, at least initially.  They are now working on a plan for getting the Clothing Pantry up and running, focused on providing free clothing for babies and children.

If  you would like to learn more about any of these efforts or how you can get involved, please contact Pastor Eleanor or Kathy Putman.
Special Celebrations to Come in April...

On Sunday, April 8, there will be a “Ministry Milestone Celebration” in and around our morning worship services.  We will be celebrating the 40th anniversary of the completion of our church sanctuary, and we will be celebrating 10 years of Stephen Ministry in our church.  For now, save the date, and watch for more information to come in the April Newsletter.

Also in April, we will be remembering and celebrating the life and ministries of Tom Larmondra.

Again, please watch for more information to come in the April Newsletter.

And…there’s more!  The Youth Group will be hosting a Family Movie Night in April!
